Gas Stations of the Future: Plug on In - Want to drive an electric car, but worried about not finding enough charging stations in your city? Residents of the America’s Greenest City don’t have to sweat it. Portland, Oregon has claimed that award from Popular Science four years in a row, and it’s easy to see why. With 13 charging stations in the major metro areas, and a dozen more on the way, Portland is making moves toward a greener future. The city will also host the launch of Nissan’s first all-electric mass-produced vehicle. We discuss this, along with talk about Oregon’s bid to be accepted in the Clean Cities Program, which could bring over 700 electric vehicles and over 1,000 charging stations to cities in Oregon with a 50 percent grant match from U.S. Department of Energy.
