I predicted an Xbox 360 price drop and a hybrid HD-DVD/Blu-Ray drive last week. Ask and ye she be… um heard…? Don’t be dissuaded. They will both happen! Also, we will be adding some new features on the show soon, so stay tuned! I also cover the HP Officejet 7410 and TEAC GS-10i. Ceci n'est pas une alarm clock!
The Sony VAIO UX line will be getting flash drives – 16GB worth. What does that mean for potential owners? Potentially, a lot!
Business
MS has had a baaaaad week overseas – things don’t look good in the EU antitrust case or the South Korean market. Life’s rough when you own the world, I guess. Oh, and that WGA callback junk has gotten them in hot water stateside. Hey, they could be bigger jerks and take away the employees’ gadget, like National Semiconductor. NBC teams with YouTube to offer grainy content that will get posted on every blog under the sun. Pioneer is launching a series of stores in the US. They’ll be much more interesting then your run of the mill company stores, though. Listen to find out how!
Hardware
Dell shows off its concept modular PC: the Dell XCS. If you buy one, you get Quad Damage and extra rocket packs. Alienware, Dell’s odd X-Files addicted cousin that embarrasses it at family picnics, has updated their laptop line to include more Core Duo options. Microsoft teases up with what could be the coolest keyboard of them all. Samsung launches 3 new digital cameras. Fashionable, if you think gluing grandpa’s glasses to the front of a camera is sleek. Jabra launches their Bluetooth headphone adapters. No headphones included, of course, so I wonder who makes some Bluetooth headphones… oh… THEY do.
Apple
$899 for an iMac? That’s cuh-to-the-ray-to-the-zee, considering that it is about $150 more than a slightly more underpowered Mac mini. A 17” screen and speed bump of $150? Sweet! Check out this fake touch screen iPod video. We LOLed in our ROFLCOPTERS. If you’ve been plagued with the nasty wrist rest of stainliness on your new MacBook, Apple is replacing them. Seriously. Replace it. It looks naaaasty. Hey! New MacBook Bundles! Really? Don’t care.
Gaming
PSP 2.5/2.6 firmware downgrader! Get it while it’s hot! Just read the directions VERY carefully, cuz this could brick your shiny little chunk of plastic joy. Also check out the video of the upcoming modchip in action. Are you listening Sony? People want to install their own programs. Kthnx.
Random
Rise! Rise my precious bed from the depths of the floor and do my bidding! Ow! My piercing! (Ow! My wallet, Mr.$1.5MM bed). Samsung tries to out-Roomba the Roomba. But for $1000 you can get 10 Roombas and have them battle for cleaning supremacy! A Roomba-Rumble, if you will! Banner blindness? I don’t see no banners! And last, but not least… The Spankometer. Um, yeah.
